SNOWY SCOUTING

When the Duchess lived in Anglesey in the early years of her marriage, she volunteered as a Scout leader. With happy memories of being a Brownie as a child, the organization encapsulates her love of being outdoors. That love was put to the test in March 2013, when she visited a Scout camp in Cumbria in the midst of a blizzard. Unperturbed, the Duchess joined in with baking bread over the campfire and encouraging the children.

Kate’s off- and on-duty casual wardrobes often cross over, as evidenced by her decision to wear wellies by French outdoor brand Le Chameau. This upmarket style is favoured by the countryside cognoscenti thanks to their cosy neoprene lining. Her outfit was completed with more classic country favourites: a Barbour jacket and cap from Really Wild Clothing. The final flourish, of course, was her red, white and blue Scout’s neckerchief.
